TyLean will be returning to the scene of the crime affectionately titled One Unforgivable, Unforgettable Night With TyLean – where her third album was experimentally recorded live – to grace the lovely clientèle with piano songs of despair, cello songs of torture and murder and of course, her powerful but lovely voice.
Described as Diamanda Galás meets Tori Amos... it's sure to be another Unforgivable, Unforgettable night, as TyLean experiments on the inhabitants of The George Tavern once again, this time in preparation for The Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
Entry is Free, but shopping at the Merch Table is appreciated!
Visit the Facebook event page.
As unusual a show as one would expect at The George.

Sadly, I had to resort to using the crappy, lightweight keyboard for this show. Just not enough keys!!! The pedal wouldn't work, and the venue's reverb wasn't either, which made it sound quite empty. Given all that.... it was still a bloody great show!!! Lovely people!!!

How to get there.
The last show of the summer... and by far the best! Heavy metal fans are the greatest fans and music lovers in the world! The other bands (Memories Forgotten, Solsikk, and The Forge) were fantastic!
Oh... and I finally played "Shards" with glass! Still not quite as I intend it to be, but it's getting there. I hope to unleash a bigger, better, glassier version this Autumn. ;)

*I abandoned my crappy 61-key, touch-sensitive keyboard and ran diagonally across the room to play the real piano for this song... without a mic. It was - by far - the most organic performance of my life so far!*

It was one of those bizarre night when you run into someone you didn't expect to see that you had potential to have a history with.... hmmmm.... made me think of people I DO have a history with, and overall, it was a painful performance to get through. Particularly "Love Always Dies."
Set list:

"The Monster I've Become"
"Love Always Dies"
"Out of Sight, Out of Mind"

If I do say so myself... I was awesome! One of my best performances yet. "Corner of My Eye" is somewhat of a work-in-progress live... and I think I'm close to nailing it! I didn't do the glass smashing for "Shards." The schedule for sound check - and for the whole night - was quite behind, and there just wasn't enough time to get everything set up properly. I am thinking about unveiling the glass smashing at Bridge House II on August 9th, where I am sure to get lots of support to pull it off properly!

A fantastic turn out! I was kind of rubbish, but it was the first time I was performing (not on a radio station or in a recording studio) in over two years, so I suppose I won't be too hard on myself.
